چکیده
Background: Cyclosporine A (CYA) prevents graft rejection after transplantation, interferon-α (IFN-α ) is a natural cytokine prescribed in some types of malignancies and hepatitis C virus. However neurologic complication such as depression side effect chronic use these drugs. Melatonin apart from its on regulating the circadian rhythm, has potent antioxidant inhibits N-methyl-d-aspartic acid (NMDA) current. The goal was to evaluate antidepressant melatonin following IFN-α, CYA administration mice. Methods: Male NMRI mice (25-30 g) were used, IFN-α (1600000 IU/kg, sc), (20 mg/kg, ip), (50 fluoxetine ip) administered daily. After evaluating locomotor activity, assessed by splash test, forced swimming test (FST), sucrose preference test. Results: While there no significant difference activity amongest different anamal groups, pretreatment with immobility time FST significantly reduced (58.50±19.4s, p

Nanocurcumine Ameliorates Lipopolysaccharide-induced Depressive-like Behavior in Mice
Objective(s): Curcumin, a plant alkaloid from Curcuma longa, possess antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. Recently, the antidepressant activities of curcumin were reported. Nevertheless, bioavailability of curcumin limits its therapeutic utility. Nanotechnology is a developing field that potentially enhances bioavailability and the plasma concentration of curcumin. This study investiga...
متن کاملEvaluation of cyclosporine A eye penetration after administration of liposomal or conventional forms in animal model
A lot of researches have investigated the effects of topical cyclosporine A on the eye surface layers’ diseases. By now the main limitation in cyclosporine application is the low permeation of the drug into the posterior segments of the eye. The aim of present study was to formulate high permeable dosage form can be beneficial in the topical treatment of the uveitis. To reach higher corneal dru...
متن کاملAntidepressant-like effect of α-tocopherol in a mouse model of depressive-like behavior induced by TNF-α
Taking into account that pro-inflammatory cytokines and oxidative and nitrosative stress are implicated in the pathogenesis of depression and that α-tocopherol has antidepressant, anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties, this study investigated the ability of α-tocopherol to abolish the depressive-like behavior induced by i.c.v. administration of TNF-α in the mouse TST. Additionally, we in...
متن کاملInvolvement of Mice Hippocampus Brain-derived Neurotrophic Factor in Diazinon-induced Depressive Behavior in Mice
Background: Diazinon (Dzn), an Organophosphorus (OP) pesticide, is extensively used in agriculture. Acetylcholinesterase inhibition is linked to OP toxicity, and there are major mental health concerns associated with the use of pesticides. The objective of this study was to assess the depressive behavior in an animal model following their exposure to Dzn and the effect on the Brain-Derived Neur...

Background and Aims: This study examined sub-chronic effects of Methamphetamine (METH) on the stereological parameters in the Cornu Ammonis (CA) of the hippocampus in adult mice. Materials and Methods: Fifteen adult male mice, eight weeks old, were randomly divided into three groups: receive saline (controls), or low-dose (LD) 2.5 mg/kg METH, or high-dose (HD) 25 mg/kg METH, via daily intrap...
